Trigyn's direct government client has an immediate need for a Lead Solution Architect in Albany, NY.
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Architectural Design: Develop high-level and detailed technical architectures for IT/OT converged transportation systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and interoperability.
- Technology Evaluation and Selection: Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and solutions that meet the specific requirements of transportation IT/OT convergence.
- Integration Strategy: Define strategies and blueprints for integrating disparate IT and OT systems, including data flow, communication protocols, and security mechanisms.
- Security Integration: Embed cybersecurity principles and best practices into the architecture from the outset, ensuring that security is a foundational element of the converged environment. This includes designing for network segmentation, access control, and threat detection.
- Performance Optimization: Design solutions that optimize the performance and efficiency of transportation operations through effective data utilization and system integration.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, operational teams, IT professionals, OT engineers, cybersecurity experts, and vendors to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to project teams throughout the lifecycle of solution development and implementation.
- Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and Prototypes: Lead the development and execution of PoCs and prototypes to validate architectural designs and explore innovative solutions.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive architectural documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and design rationales.
- Standards and Best Practices: Ensure that all designs adhere to relevant industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements for transportation and critical infrastructure.
- Future-Proofing: Design solutions that are adaptable to future technological advancements and evolving operational needs
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.
- Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
- 84 months of experience in IT, systems engineering, and operational technology specifically in an architect or lead systems engineer role.
- 84 months of experience with IT/OT Convergence that integrates OT systems (like traffic signals) with modern IT systems (cloud databases, data lakes, and enterprise analytics).
- 72 months experience designing secure architectures that isolate sensitive OT control networks from corporate IT networks
- 72 months of experience designing and implementing hybrid cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or private clouds) that ingest massive streams of real-time data.
- 60 months of experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices, including Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS), and vehicle detection systems (radar, microwave, loop detectors).
- 48 months of experience managing a team consisting of solution architects, data architects, and/or business/systems analysts
- 48 months of experience evaluating, selecting, and managing hardware and software vendors, ensuring they adhere to Federal and/or State Policies and Standards.
