Job summary

Mortenson Bros Farms, Inc. in central Wisconsin is seeking a Lead Irrigation Technician. The role focuses on maintaining and keeping all irrigation systems operational across 100+ pivots and other setups, including center pivots, straight systems, and corner-arm towers.

You will supervise a team of irrigation specialists, schedule routine and preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, manage inventory, and coordinate with farm management and vendors. Some electrical work may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge and working experience with 100+ irrigation systems including center pivot, straight systems, and corner-arm swing towers.
• Organized and detail oriented with excellent communication skills and ability to work with farm management, team members, and vendors.
• Experience in trouble-shooting, diagnostics, scheduling routine and preventative maintenance, and winterization of systems.

Position Description Mortenson Bros. Farms is seeking a Lead Irrigation Technician. The primary responsibility is to maintain all irrigation systems and keep them operational. This individual must have knowledge and working experience with the physical structure, electrical components, and operation of 100+ irrigation systems consisting of center pivot, straight systems, and corner-arm swing tower systems. Knowledge of VFD, pump panels, telemetry, sequencing, maintenance, and system operation is essential.

This position will provide organization, direction, and supervision to a team of irrigation specialists. The successful candidate must be organized and detail oriented with excellent communication skills and comfortable working with all levels of farm management, team members, and outside vendors. This position will be responsible for trouble-shooting, diagnostics, scheduling routine and preventative maintenance, and winterization of systems, following up on progress and tracking completion of tasks, including hands-on maintenance and repairs. The position will also be responsible for managing inventory for parts, tires, etc.

Additional duties may include various non-irrigation electrical services such as lighting, wiring, and occasional electrical maintenance on farm equipment and buildings.
