Job summary

Wysocki Family Farms is seeking a full-time Irrigation Technician in Bancroft, Wisconsin. This role involves operating center pivot irrigation systems and ensuring efficient water distribution to crops based on agronomic insights. Technicians will also conduct system inspections and maintain records.

The ideal candidate should have a valid driver's license, basic mechanical skills, and be motivated to work independently. Training to attain a pesticide applicator license will be provided by the company.

Qualifications

• Attain pesticide applicator license within 6 months - company paid.
• Background in Agronomy is beneficial.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Wysocki Family Farms is seeking a full-time Irrigation Technician responsible for operating a group of center pivot irrigation systems, corner irrigation systems, and well pump systems servicing growing crops to ensure proper water distribution to crops on an efficient schedule based on information provided from the Agronomy Team.

The Irrigation Technician monitors and adjusts water flow rates to ensure optimal irrigation coverage and conducts regular inspections to identify leaks, clogs, or other issues in the irrigation system. Our Irrigation Technicians work in a seasonal business and take on short‑term roles in the off‑season to maintain a full‑time work schedule helping to get all the work done.

Accountabilities

1. Operates a group of center pivot irrigation systems, corner irrigation systems, and well pump systems servicing growing crops.
2. Ensures proper water distribution to crops on an efficient schedule.
3. Conducts regular inspections to identify leaks, clogs, or other issues in the irrigation system.
4. Keeps detailed records of irrigation activities, water usage, and system maintenance.
5. Ensures quality, health and safety standards are upheld.
6. Assists with repairing and troubleshooting irrigation systems.
7. Serves in secondary positions such as tractor operator, piler operator or storage line supervisor.

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires a driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to use a laptop or iPad to remotely operate irrigation equipment.
• Attain pesticide applicator license within 6 months - company paid.
• Electrical systems knowledge.
• Motivated to work independently while monitoring the irrigation needs of assigned crops.
• Basic mechanical skills to change tires, u-joints, gear boxes or wheel boxes.
• Background in Agronomy is beneficial.
