Job summary

TAI is seeking a Back Ironworker Foreman in Sparrows Point, MD to lead field operations on structural steel projects. You will supervise 2–4 ironworkers and welders, interpret drawings, plan erection sequences, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced industrial setting.

You must have 8+ years of ironworking experience, 3+ years as a Foreman, welding certifications, and the ability to read drawings. Schedule is 6:00 AM–3:00 PM with overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED. 8+ years in industrial structural/ironworking. 3+ years as a Foreman.
• Welding certificates and ability to pass D1 weld tests; competent person for rigging, fall protection and steel erection.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings; proficient with shop math and industry tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise structural/steel field projects, ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget completion.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings and risk assessments; lead safety planning.
• Oversee 2–4 ironworkers/welders; assign tasks to meet priorities and qualifications.
• Ensure quality of work; rectify defects; maintain safe tool and PPE usage.
• Communicate project status and issues to managers; document progress.
• Fabricate, erect and troubleshoot structural steel components per drawings.
• Plan erection sequence to maintain stability; anticipate manpower and material needs.
• Rig, hoist and position components; comply with all safety regulations.
