Job summary

United Therapeutics in Silver Spring, MD seeks a hands-on Supervisor, Reprogramming (iPSC) to lead Manufacturing Associates in a phase-appropriate GMP environment. You will guide reprogramming, culture, scale-up, and cell banking with a focus on safety, documentation, and compliance.

You will review batch records, deviations, investigations, and SOPs; manage schedules, resource planning, and cross-functional collaboration to meet production targets and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a directly related life science specialty field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with cell culture and expansion in 2D and 3D systems.
• Experience with aseptic technique, cleanroom practices, and contamination control.
• GMP knowledge and ability to apply GMP to processes.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in day-to-day activities of Manufacturing Associates and ensure adequate resources to meet production targets.
• Serve as primary escalation point for production floor operations and adjust schedules as needed.
• Perform hands-on manufacturing operations including iPSC reprogramming, culture, expansion, scale-up, and cell banking.
• Review and approve manufacturing documentation and deviations; drive corrective actions.
• Create, review and revise SOPs and manufacturing procedures.
• Monitor equipment alarms and lead troubleshooting on a 24/7 basis.
• Plan schedules to maintain production targets and support tech transfer activities.
• Collaborate with procurement to monitor material usage and budget compliance.
• Coach and develop staff through training and performance reviews.
