Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a Lead Interventional Technologist to lead an IR Operating Room team. The role offers a weekday schedule with no on-call or weekend shifts, in a premier academic medical center.

You will oversee daily workflows, train staff, and participate in protocol development, while maintaining staff levels and budget management for supplies. Requires ARRT radiologic technologist certification, VI registration, CPR/BLS, and 3+ years IR experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years IR experience required.
• ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Secondary registration in VI required or equivalent.
• CPR or BLS required.
• CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.
• Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge in software application and techniques and the budget management of supplies.
• Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of advanced technologists and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
• Performs all job responsibilities of an Advanced IR Tech II.
• Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
• Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame.

• Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic technology.
• Minimum of 3 years IR experience require.
• Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
• ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Secondary registration in VI required or equivalent.
• CPR or BLS Required.
• CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
