Job summary

The Boeing Company in North Charleston, South Carolina, is seeking an Interiors Certification Engineering Manager (K Level) to lead a high-performing team responsible for the safety and certification of interior systems in commercial airplanes.

You will oversee E-UMs, coordinate with design, certification and production, develop staff, mentor, and work with regulators to ensure compliance under applicable regulations and Boeing procedures.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Aerospace/Materials) or equivalent.
• 7+ years in engineering roles with design, integrations or certification.
• At least 1 year in a leadership role or completed Boeing leadership course.
• Demonstrated ability to build consensus among stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including presenting to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of Payloads Engineering Unit Members and support staff.
• Coordinate with design, certification, and production to remove roadblocks.
• Provide coaching and development opportunities for performance and quality.
• Facilitate resolution of technical or interpersonal issues.
• Mitigate regulatory risk per 14 CFR § 183.57(c) and 49 USC § 44742.
• Recruit and develop new E-UMs to maintain a healthy workforce.
• Support E-UM credentials through reviews and training schedules.
• Promote open, respectful culture across the value stream.
• Lead initiatives to improve the certification system and regulator relations.
