Job summary

HOK Group, Inc. in San Francisco and Salt Lake City seeks an experienced Interior Designer to interpret, organize and execute conceptual design for projects, coordinating space planning, lighting, color and furnishings to meet client goals and budgets.

Responsibilities span programming through construction; travel is required. A professional Interior Designer with NCIDQ or Architect license, and LEED credential within 12 months, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in interiors projects required.
• Must be professional Interior Designer and have passed the NCIDQ exam or be a registered Architect with current license required.
• If registered Architect, NCARB registration preferred.
• LEED credential required within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts programming efforts such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, lighting and color coordination.
• Develops innovative design concepts which are practical, aesthetic, safe and conducive to intended purposes and function within project budget.
• Implements all phases of a design project including contracts, budgeting, scheduling, design, documentation, and construction, including furniture specification.
• Maintains positive client relationships and keeps clients apprised of project progress; coordinates with key project personnel for clarification and issues.
• Leads Construction Administration phase, handles RFIs, COs, shop drawings, and field site reviews.
• Renders conceptual design ideas and prepares 2D/3D presentation drawings; coordinates color and material palettes.
