Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a hands-on Technician for Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE) in California. You will mechanically and electrically integrate components, set up vacuum systems, work with high-voltage hardware, and support early development hardware.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate’s degree in a technical field plus 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience with vacuum systems: pumps, gauges, valves, leak-checking.
• Experience with high-voltage/high-current systems in industrial/test/R&D environments.
• Mechanical assembly and integration using standard hand/power tools.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient with common shop/test equipment (torque tools, meters, scopes).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical integration of components, subsystems, and test articles.
• Set up, operate, and maintain vacuum systems and related hardware.
• Work with high-voltage and high-amperage systems and safety procedures.
• Set up and operate furnaces and thermal processing equipment.
• Support early development and prototype hardware with feedback to design.
• Execute test setups, install instrumentation, route cabling, and document run parameters.
• Interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
• Maintain safety, quality, and housekeeping standards; complete build records and test logs.
• Mentor junior technicians and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
