Job summary

Hargrove EPC is seeking an electrical/instrumentation engineer with 6+ years of industrial experience to lead design tasks on complex projects in Houston. You will develop concept layouts, perform calculations, and prepare specifications for high/low voltage equipment under supervision.

The role requires coordination with discipline leads, guiding junior engineers, and ensuring NEC compliance while delivering cost-effective solutions on projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer registration is highly preferred or may be required.
• 6+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering.
• Knowledge and application of the current NEC version.
• Ability to perform lighting level calculations and size wire, conduit, and overcurrent protection.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with department design and drafting standards and apply them to tasks.
• Coordinate work with staff and discipline lead; provide guidance to junior team members.
• Lead small to mid-sized projects and deliver disciplined designs on schedule.
• Produce 15kV/5kV equipment specifications and electrical installation specifications.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to optimize engineering solutions.
• Review vendor and discipline drawings for compliance and accuracy.
• Perform fieldwork for data gathering, tie-ins, and construction support.
