Job summary

City of Boise seeks a lead instrumentation technician to support installation, calibration and maintenance of industrial instrumentation and control systems at water treatment facilities and other public works sites.

The role requires experience with electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic instrumentation and PLC-connected instruments, and operates under limited supervision to solve technical challenges in a critical infrastructure setting.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
6 years of experience installing, repairing and maintaining industrial instrumentation and control systems, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Ability to obtain Idaho Wastewater Treatment Class I License or OIT within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

Lead journey-level installation, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on diverse instrumentation and control devices per codes and site standards.
Plan and execute tasks requiring judgment, analysis and research while considering priority and impact to operations.
Create and maintain maintenance records and schedules using asset management programs.
