Job summary

Grain Processing Corporation (GPC) in Washington, Indiana, is seeking a Control Systems Superintendent to lead our Instrumentation and Controls team and drive reliability, safety, and performance of plant control systems. You will partner with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering to tackle complex challenges, support capital projects, and develop the next generation of technical talent.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical discipline.
10 years of experience supporting industrial control systems (PLCs, DCS, HMIs) in manufacturing.
Experience leading instrumentation, controls, or reliability initiatives and capital projects.
Proven ability to lead technical teams and partner across Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and contractors.
Strong troubleshooting mindset and drive to improve system reliability and performance.
Hands-on expertise with industrial networks and protocols (Ethernet/IP, HART, DeviceNet, Profibus, DH+).
Able to balance strategic leadership with hands-on plant support and effective communication.

Responsibilities

Lead the Instrumentation and Controls team to support safe, reliable operations.
Serve as subject matter expert for control systems, instrumentation, automation technologies, and OT systems.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
Troubleshoot complex instrumentation and control system issues while partnering with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams to drive timely resolutions.
Lead capital, reliability, and continuous improvement projects from concept through implementation, including contractor oversight and competitive bid management.
Evaluate and implement new technologies, system upgrades, and design improvements that enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Create, maintain, and communicate technical documentation, standards, procedures, and training materials to support long-term operational success.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards while managing project budgets, capital requests, and continuous improvement initiatives.
