Job summary
Phillips 66 is seeking a Senior Engineer II, Instrument & Control to provide design guidance and QA for instruments, control, and safety systems on capital projects. You will oversee EPC contractors, review control narratives, and ensure alignment with codes and project objectives.
The role blends strong instrumentation depth with practical project execution in refining environments, partnering with multiple disciplines to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, instrumentation, chemical, mechanical or related).
- 10+ years of petrochemical experience.
- Experience with industrial instrumentation and control systems in refining or similar process industries.
- Knowledge of DCS, SIS, PLC, control narratives, and related diagrams.
Responsibilities
- Provide instrumentation and controls engineering support for projects from development through startup.
- Review design deliverables for field instrumentation, control systems, and safety systems.
- Oversee EPC contractors’ scope, project execution strategies, and design basis to meet objectives and codes.
- Support selection and application of field instruments, valves, PLCs, DCS platforms, and safety systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, procurement, and construction stakeholders for project success.
- Review vendor documentation and assist in technical bid evaluations.
