Job summary

University of Florida is seeking a professional-level Instructional Designer III to join Academic Technology within UFIT. The role involves leading design projects for academic programs, coordinating with SMEs and technical teams, and guiding large cross-functional teams.

The position requires a Master’s degree (or a BA/BS with substantial experience) and the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.
• Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, development, and implementation of instructional design projects by applying established learning theories, pedagogical best practices, and innovative educational technologies across multiple delivery modalities.
• Serve as the primary liaison between faculty, stakeholders, and development teams by managing project communications, developing project documentation, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality learning solutions.
• Supervise project workflows, timelines, and quality standards while training, mentoring, and guiding staff and student employees in instructional design methodologies, learning standards, and emerging technologies.
• Demonstrate strong initiative and self-direction by independently managing multiple concurrent projects, prioritizing competing demands, and consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Research, evaluate, and implement emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in instructional design, online learning, usability, and accessibility while representing the organization on strategic initiatives, committees, and high-impact projects.
