Role Description

The Lead Installation Technician is a full-time hybrid role based in Brooklyn Park, MN, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role oversees the installation of professional audio, video, and lighting systems at client sites, including leading on-site crews, planning daily tasks, and ensuring projects are completed on time and to specification. Typical responsibilities include reading and interpreting system designs, installing and terminating cabling, mounting and configuring equipment, performing system tests, and documenting work performed. The Lead Installation Technician coordinates with project managers and designers, communicates regularly with clients about progress and expectations, and addresses on-site issues through effective troubleshooting. This role also supports training end users on installed systems and promotes safe work practices that meet company and industry standards.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in audio, video, and lighting systems.
  • Candidates should possess effective communication skills and a focus on customer satisfaction to collaborate with team members and interact professionally with clients.
  • Candidates should possess cabling and basic installation skills, including pulling cable, making terminations, and following wiring standards and documentation.
  • Candidates should possess customer service skills, demonstrating reliability, responsiveness, and a professional demeanor on job sites.
  • Experience leading installation crews or technical teams in the AV or related fields is preferred.
  • Familiarity with audio, video, and lighting equipment, control systems, and basic networking concepts is beneficial.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, use hand and power tools safely, and work on ladders or lifts as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in AV, electronics, or related disciplines are a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites, including occasional evening or weekend work as projects require.
