Job summary

ESC LLC is seeking an Audio Visual Lead Technician to join our Denver, CO team. This full-time, on-site role leads installation, configuration, and testing of home automation and AV systems, working with Crestron, Control4, Savant, Lutron, and JoshAI.

You will read designs, pull low-voltage cables, mount devices, and build racks, while guiding junior technicians and coordinating with clients and project managers.

Qualifications

• Residential AV and home automation experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret system designs and wiring diagrams.
• Proven troubleshooting skills for AV and network issues.
• Experience mentoring on-site technicians and coordinating with PMs/clients.
• CTS or manufacturer certifications are desirable.

Role Description

The Audio Visual Lead Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Denver, CO. This position is responsible for leading the installation, configuration, and testing of home automation and audio-visual systems, including platforms such as Crestron, Control4, Savant, Lutron, and JoshAI. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting system designs and wiring diagrams, pulling and terminating low-voltage cabling, installing and mounting devices and equipment racks, and programming or configuring systems as required. The Audio Visual Lead Technician will oversee project timelines on-site, guide and mentor junior technicians, coordinate with project managers and clients, and ensure that all installations meet company quality standards and safety practices. The role also involves troubleshooting system issues, performing updates and maintenance, and providing clear documentation of installed systems.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with home automation and AV platforms (e.g., Crestron, Control4, Savant, Lutron, JoshAI) and the ability to lead complex residential installations.
• Proficiency in low-voltage wiring, cable management, rack building, device mounting, and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot audio-visual and network-related issues, perform system testing, and deliver reliable, stable installations.
• Experience mentoring or supervising technicians on-site, coordinating tasks, and communicating effectively with project managers, designers, and clients.
• Comfort working with basic networking concepts (IP addressing, routers, switches, Wi-Fi), and familiarity with integration of AV systems over IP is beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a field-based environment.
• Ability to lift and move equipment as required, work on ladders, and adhere to safety standards and best practices on job sites.
• Relevant certifications or training (e.g., CTS, manufacturer-specific certifications, low-voltage licenses) and prior experience in residential AV or home automation are highly desirable.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to client sites in the Denver, CO area.
