Job summary

Kiln is seeking an experienced Lead Install Technician to join our team in Utah. This role ensures that custom-built FF&E installations are completed with precision and efficiency, while leading installation crews and traveling 75–100% for project execution.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of furniture installation or millwork experience, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to read blueprints. Strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to safety are essential.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and furniture.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the installation of Kiln Series items and other FF&E elements according to specifications.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise installation team members to maintain high standards.
  • Work with materials such as wood, metal, and composites for custom elements.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and installation guides.
  • Ensure installations meet quality and safety standards and troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with designers and project managers for seamless execution.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace and operate tools safely.
  • Provide excellent customer service and represent Kiln professionally.
  • Contribute to installation schedules and logistics to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to ongoing maintenance of Kiln sites.

Role Summary:

Kiln is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Install Technician to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that all custom-built elements and FF&E installations are completed with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in assembling and installing furniture, leading installation teams, working with various materials, and reading technical drawings. This position requires strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. Willingness and ability to travel 75%-100% of the time for installations and project execution.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the installation of Kiln Series items, general FF&E, and other custom-built elements according to specifications.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise installation team members to ensure high standards of work.
  • Work with a variety of materials, including wood, metal, and composite materials to create custom kiln series elements.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and installation guides.
  • Ensure all installations meet quality standards and community expectations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the installation process.
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other team members to ensure seamless execution.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following all safety protocols.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Provide excellent customer service and represent Kiln with professionalism.
  • Contribute to installation schedules and coordination of logistics to meet project deadlines.
  • Contribute to the ongoing maintenance of Kiln sites.

Ideal Experience and Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in furniture installation, millwork, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading an installation team.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
