Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions is seeking a Lead Engineer to manage datacenters and multi-domain networks. You will evaluate and design a hosted desktop infrastructure for developers while adhering to strict security requirements.

Responsibilities include deploying VMware vCloud, designing storage with NetApp clusters, and configuring Cisco UCS hardware. The role requires extensive experience with VMware, NetApp storage solutions, and cross-platform network engineering, including Linux, Windows,

Qualifications

• Security+ certification is required.
• 12 years of IT experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, with 8 additional years can substitute for the degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engineer maintaining datacenters containing multi-domain, cross-platform networks.
• Evaluate and design an updated Hosted Desktop Infrastructure (HDI) solution for developer environments to meet new security restrictions.
• Install, configure and support VMware vCloud environment.
• Design and implement storage solutions utilizing multiple NetApp clusters to replace current end-of-life storage systems.
• Set up and maintain Cisco UCS hardware for the virtual environment.
• Install, configure and support mobile cellular and wireless networks to support campus/system-wide requirements.
• Implement a Mac OSX virtual environment for development testing.
• Set up GUI-based deployment server for Windows and Linux desktop installations from a single application.
• Lead medium to large complex projects and major phases of very large projects.

Salary: $190,000 - $200,000 annually
