Job summary

SimpleClosure is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join AssetHub, our marketplace for assets left behind when a company shuts down. You’ll lead the build of novel systems for digital asset acquisition, preparation, and delivery, collaborating with leadership, product, and design to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.

You will work in a hybrid NYC setting, reporting to the CTO, and mentor engineers while driving architecture and security in a fast-paced startup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Backend/Infrastructure: Proficiency in Python, Go, Docker, K8s, Terraform.
• Ability to design scalable systems and APIs.
• Leadership: mentor and coach teams in early-stage environments.
• Quality: emphasis on testing, performance, security.
• Startup mindset: thrives in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design, development, and delivery of complex features from concept to deployment.
• Mentor and guide other engineers, promoting strong engineering practices and learning.
• Architect scalable, maintainable systems across the stack, aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
• Conduct and lead code reviews to maintain quality, performance, and security.
• Build and configure protective systems, processes, software, and networks to secure data.
• Introduce modern tools, frameworks, and processes to improve speed and maintainability.
• Partner with leadership to set technical direction and prioritize in a fast-paced startup.
