Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a Lead Infrastructure Engineer in San Francisco. You will join the Infrastructure Platforms Team and apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and infrastructures to drive performance and resilience.

You will lead projects spanning networking, automation, and cloud migrations, with emphasis on secure, auditable delivery and cross-functional collaboration within a large enterprise.

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering disciplines.
  • Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching and security.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering expertise to projects from design through troubleshooting of moderate complexity.
  • Lead workstreams that modernize infrastructure and coordinate changes across platforms.
  • Assess upstream and downstream data implications and advise mitigations.
  • Incorporate AI-assisted practices for delivery, automation and remediation validation.
  • Leverage enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate analysis and documentation while ensuring data security.
  • Contribute to a diverse, inclusive team culture and ethics.

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms Team, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Also, you will continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.

Job responsibilities
  • Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and executes creative solutions for design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
  • Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies and works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and technology processes
  • Strongly considers upstream and downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and documentation (e.g., summarizing monitoring findings), validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity and security requirements
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as: hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience or performance assessments
  • Strong hands-on Cisco, Arista and Fortinet networking expertise, including L2/L3 switching and routing
  • Proven delivery experience on network migration projects
  • Must-have routing protocol expertise: BGP and OSPF.
  • Solid switching concepts: VLANs, STP, LACP, port-channels.
  • Operational experience with network configuration, troubleshooting, and validation.
  • Migration execution capability: pre-/post-migration checks and cutover activities.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations
  • Cloud and automation skills: experience operating/migrating across public and private clouds, plus relevant scripting (e.g., Python) and basic data fluency; Familiarity with Arista and Fortinet
