Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Lead, Information Security Systems Engineering in Salt Lake City, UT. You will guide security architecture, oversee RMF activities, and ensure compliance across software, networks, and hardware in collaboration with engineers.

The role requires strong governance, risk, and compliance background, DoD security experience, and the ability to obtain/maintain required clearances. Expect cross-functional teamwork and periodic travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum 9 years of relevant experience.
• Graduate degree with 7 years of relevant experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 13 years of relevant experience.
• One DoD 8140 / 8570-compliant certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with RMF lifecycle activities and NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Experience with STIGs and government ATO processes.
• Experience working with government customers in SETA/AAS roles.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply security controls from NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253 into actionable requirements.
• Support implementation and validation of STIGs and other baselines.
• Execute RMF lifecycle activities from categorization to continuous monitoring.
• Develop, maintain, and review RMF docs (SSP, SAR, POA&Ms, Security Plans).
• Review high-level system design to ensure security requirements across software, networks, and hardware.
• Interface with AOs and external assessors to support authorization.
• Track and report compliance status, risks, and remediation to leadership.
• Travel up to 10% as needed.
• Must have a DoD Secret clearance.
