Gretchen's House Child Care Centers in Michigan is seeking a Lead Infant and Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You will design and implement developmentally appropriate activities and nurture a safe, engaging environment for infants and toddlers.

The ideal candidate has experience with young children, an ECE credential or degree, knowledge of child development, and strong communication skills to collaborate with families and staff while supporting ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Proven experience with infants and toddlers in educational or caregiving settings.
• Early childhood education credentials; certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of child development and age-specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development

- Provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers

- Observe and assess children's progress, documenting developmental milestones and communicating with parents and guardians

- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging exploration and independence

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in compliance with licensing and safety standards

- Collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing professional development

- Support families through regular communication and building strong partnerships

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience working with infants and toddlers in an educational or caregiving setting

- Early childhood education certification or relevant credentials preferred

- Strong understanding of child development principles, along with age-specific and special needs

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities

- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children

- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in early childhood education

• BA in ECE or closely related field
• HighScope certification preferred but not required
