Job summary

YMCA Central New Mexico is seeking a Lead Infant Teacher to guide the program, mentor staff, and implement the curriculum in an environment that emphasizes the YMCA core values. You will ensure a quality experience for children and families.

You will work with the Program Coordinator to design daily activities, maintain safety ratios, and prepare materials for an engaging learning environment, while communicating with parents and supporting family involvement.

Qualifications

  • Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law (if the state sets The YMCA should establish minimum qualification standards if the state has no requirements).
  • At least 18 years of age (The age minimum may be higher depending on state law).
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities
  • Previous experience with diverse
  • Able to hold State License for the classroom (Infant, Toddler and Preschool)

Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Coordinator with development and implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
  • Designs and implements daily lesson/activity
  • Assist Program Coordinator to insure proper participant/staff ratios as per
  • Assist Program Coordinator in planning and preparation of a creative learning environment, establishing centers of interest, and preparing needed materials and
  • Supervises the children, classroom, and all
  • Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each
  • Conducts parent conferences, maintains communication with parents, and engages parents as volunteers.

  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
