Job summary

YMCA of Central New Mexico in Albuquerque seeks a Lead Infant Teacher to direct the program, implement curriculum, and guide staff in a manner that reflects the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

You will collaborate with the Program Coordinator to design daily activities, supervise classrooms, and conduct parent conferences while promoting a supportive, inclusive environment for infants and families.

Qualifications

• Meets state-imposed educational and experience qualifications.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with children in a developmental setting.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Able to hold State License for the classroom (Infant, Toddler and Preschool)

Responsibilities

• Assist Program Coordinator with development and implements curriculum within established guidelines.
• Designs and implements daily lesson/activity.
• Assist Program Coordinator to insure proper participant/staff ratios as per guidelines.
• Assist Program Coordinator in planning and preparation of a creative learning environment, establishing centers of interest, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
• Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
• Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
• Conducts parent conferences, maintains communication with parents, and engages parents as volunteers.
• Maintains program site and facilities.
• Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
