Job summary

The Learning Experience in Astoria, NY is seeking a warm, nurturing Lead Infant Teacher to help our littlest learners grow. This full-time role focuses on safe, engaging environments and age-appropriate activities that support early development.

You will implement our infant curriculum, document progress, collaborate with families and a team of assistants, and ensure routines while following licensing regulations. Experience with infants and NYC requirements are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with infants in a licensed childcare center.
• Associate's degree or NYC-qualified credential for Lead Infant Teacher.
• Commitment to infant development and early childhood education.
• Patient, attentive, energetic, creative and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, safe, and nurturing classroom environment for infants.

The Learning Experience of Astoria is looking for a warm, nurturing, dependable, and enthusiastic Lead Infant Teacher to join our team!

Our infant classroom is about so much more than feeding, diapering, and naps. We believe that learning begins at birth, and our teachers play an important role in helping babies reach developmental milestones through meaningful interactions, sensory exploration, music, movement, and age-appropriate educational activities.

We're looking for someone who genuinely loves working with infants and understands the importance of creating a safe, loving, and engaging environment where our littlest learners can thrive!

What You'll Do

• Create a warm, safe, and nurturing classroom environment for infants.
• Implement our age-appropriate infant curriculum, including sensory activities, music, movement, and early learning experiences.
• Encourage developmental milestones, including tummy time, crawling, early communication, and fine and gross motor development.
• Maintain consistent feeding, diapering, and nap routines while following safe sleep practices.
• Observe and document children's developmental progress.
• Build positive relationships with families through daily communication and updates.
• Work collaboratively with assistant teachers to maintain an organized, engaging, and welcoming classroom.
• Follow all health, safety, and childcare licensing regulations.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with infants in a licensed childcare center.
• An associate's in early childhood education, or other qualifications that meet NYC requirements for a Lead Infant Teacher.
• A genuine passion for infant development and early childhood education.
• Someone who is patient, attentive, energetic, creative, and dependable.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• The ability to work as part of a team while confidently leading an infant classroom.
