Job Requirements:
- Position Summary: The Lead Infant Teacher is responsible for assisting in the daily programming for children enrolled in the Early Childhood program at St. Joseph Academy (SJA). The role includes helping to provide developmentally appropriate practices and high-quality early care and education. The Lead Infant Teacher works in partnership with the Co-Lead Teacher to ensure that the needs of children and their families are understood and communicated, serving as a primary SJA liaison. The EHS Infant Teacher implements the early childhood program within local, state, and federal guidelines, rules, regulations, laws, Wisconsin licensing, and accreditation standards.
- Reports to: ECEC Director
- Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor degree in early childhood education or related field required
- Level 9 or above on the Registry
- 1+ years experience in licensed childcare setting
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and planning skills
- Interest and ability to support children and families
- Ability to analyze issues, identify options, and implement solutions
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff and management
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond positively to work guidance
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently under time constraints
- Equipment Used: Office equipment including computers, printers, phones, fax, photocopier
- Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to sit (25%), walk/stand (75%), lift up to 50 lbs., communicate effectively, and handle stress in emergency situations. Must have functional senses and manual dexterity.
- Environmental Conditions: Exposure to communicable diseases, loud noises, high humidity, heat, and cold.
- Essential Duties: Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, and utilize developmentally appropriate curriculum and materials.
