Job summary

Kiewit Industrial District is seeking an experienced Piping Superintendent to lead field teams on self-performed industrial projects across the United States. You will supervise piping installation, mentor craft personnel, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence in challenging heavy industrial environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in self-perform construction, with at least 3+ years in a Superintendent role.
• Understanding of state license requirements for journeymen to apprentice ratios for piping work.
• 3+ years of piping construction experience.
• Advanced knowledge of safety, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings, procurement, and estimating.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor craft personnel.
• Strong leadership, initiative, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the piping scope of the project as Superintendent, overseeing foremen and piping craft workers to drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Serve as liaison between field engineering and craft; coordinate with PM/CM and technical teams on piping challenges.
• Coordinate with other superintendents, subcontractors, inspection agencies, clients, and leadership for workflow and schedule alignment.
• Resolve conflicts and manage workforce scheduling; escalate to leadership when needed.
• Assist in project planning: schedules, craft labor needs, material quantities, and equipment for piping systems.
• Ensure safety, attendance, and conduct policies are followed per Kiewit standards.
• Establish and manage budget expectations for piping scope and enforce cost controls.
• Set and enforce quality standards; develop lookahead schedules and coordinate inspections.
