Job summary
Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking an experienced Painter Lead to support the Paint Department. The Lead will provide hands-on leadership, technical guidance, and safety-focused supervision to painters while ensuring work meets quality standards.
The role includes coordinating daily workflow, training team members, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring products meet customer specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of industrial painting experience in manufacturing.
- Experience leading a painting team or shift.
- Strong knowledge of paint prep, mixing, spraying, and finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily direction to painters to meet production goals and quality standards.
- Organize workflow, prioritize jobs, and communicate needs to Paint Supervisor/Manager.
- Train and mentor new and existing employees on painting techniques and safety.
- Perform surface prep: cleaning, sanding, masking, and repairing surfaces prior to painting.
- Set up and operate spray equipment to apply primers, paints, lacquers, sealers, enamels, and protective coatings.
- Mix paints according to specifications, maintain viscosity, color, and consistency.
- Review instructions, drawings, and specs to verify finishes and coating requirements.
- Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to customer requirements.
