Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (8pm–6am, Sunday–Thursday) to maintain and repair manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing electro-mechanical problems, setting up equipment, repairing components, troubleshooting PLC/control circuits, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent relative experience.
  • 5-10 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
  • Willing to standby for on-call, overtime as required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and CMMS systems.
  • Spanish language ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical problems on manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments.
  • Repair and keep mechanical machine components in top operating condition.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, etc.
  • Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program.
  • Train technicians in more complex tasks and skills.

Job Description
JOB DETAILS
3rd Shift: 8pm-6am Sunday-Thursday
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
  • Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
  • Repair and keep mechanical machine components in top operating condition
  • Advanced understanding of electrical principles such as voltage, current and resistance
  • Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, photo eyes, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuits and programmable drives
  • Troubleshoot the inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
  • Complete projects to add electrical circuits and controls, new equipment and relocate machines
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic systems including repairs of cylinders and other components
  • Perform simple to complex mechanical Preventative Maintenance Tasks following instructions
  • Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
  • Monitor and report spare parts usage including completing parts order forms
  • Adjust equipment based on Statistical Process Control data and team with QA
  • Train all levels of technicians in more complex tasks and skills
  • Responsible for direct reports activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associates degree in related field, or equivalent relative experience
  • 5-10 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
  • Able to strictly adhere to safety policies/procedures and be committed to customer quality.
  • Must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and CMMS systems
  • Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations
  • Ability to train all levels of Technicians
  • Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (ex. welding, basic machining)
  • Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting
  • Able to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships employees, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Ability to show attention to detail in a very fast paced environment
  • Bilingual is plus.(English & spanish)
