Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician in Tolleson, AZ. The role focuses on both mechanical and electrical maintenance, with a 60% mechanical and 40% electrical workload across a variety of equipment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in industrial maintenance, strong electrical safety record, and experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and programmable logic controllers. First shift; $35.00–$40.00 per hour; $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician in an industrial facility.
• Demonstrated commitment to electrical safety, strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
• Pneumatic systems experience.
• Mechanical systems experience.
• Medium voltage troubleshooting (480 VAC) and repair (750 VDC).
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC and OSHA standards.
• Transformers maintenance and testing.
• Three phase motors, DC motors and motor controls.
• Servo motors and controls; hydraulics and pneumatics experience.
• Programmable logic controllers (PLC's) and HMIs; VFDs (AC/DC).
• Proficient in reading electrical diagrams and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Know and follow all safety rules for hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
• 60% mechanical work and 40% electrical work.
• Tackle highly technical projects and evolving problems.
• Make decisions based on analysis and findings.
• Install/repair electrical equipment per blueprints and specs.
• Operate welding equipment and fabricate jigs/fixtures.
• Use electrical hand tools and test equipment.
• Diagnose and correct electrical system problems.
• Perform visual/mechanical inspections to ensure quality per specs.
• Follow preventive maintenance programs and take corrective action when needed.
• Maintain facilities and perform repairs to buildings as needed.
• Notify management of major repairs or lighting/heating equipment needs.
• Provide on-the-job guidance to junior maintenance staff.
• Pursue continuous improvement in the work area.

JOB DETAILS

Pay: $35.00 - 40.00 per hour

$2,500 sign on bonus!

1st Shift Monday- Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working with and around hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and electrical apparatus
• Position is 60% mechanical work and 40% electrical work
• Ability to work on highly technical or involved projects, presenting new or constantly changing problems
• Ability to deal with complex factors not easily evaluated and to make decision based on conclusions and findings
• Installs and repairs a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems or other transmission equipment. Working with blueprints, drawings, layouts, verbal instructions and/or other specs
• Uses all types of welding equipment, arc, acetylene, brazing, and flame cutting equipment. Capable of laying out and fitting up welding, making jugs and fixtures
• Uses electricians hand tools and measuring and testing equipment
• Diagnoses and corrects trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment
• Performs visual and mechanical inspections required to keep machinery in good condition to produce a finished quality product to order specifications
• Follows preventive maintenance program as established by the company and performs inspections of equipment and takes preventive action when necessary
• Maintains buildings, performing minor and major repairs
• Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating and ventilating equipment
• Gives on the job direction to new maintenance mechanics and/or others assisting in maintenance work
• Maintains continuous improvement efforts in work area

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician in an industrial manufacturing facility
• Demonstrated commitment to electrical safety, strong troubleshooting skills, decision making skills, problem analysis and conflict management skills, particularly in pressure situations

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
