Job summary

Aegis Manufacturing & Engineering in Knightstown, IN is seeking a Build Supervisor to lead the line and drive assembly of mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical equipment. You will direct daily priorities, mentor the team, and ensure safe, accurate, on-time builds through hands-on involvement and close collaboration with production staff.

The role requires strong leadership, mechanical aptitude, ability to read drawings/BOMs, and ERP/work-order experience.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing/assembly or machine-building experience.
• Previous team lead/supervisory or strong informal leadership background.
• Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electro-mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
• ERP/work-order/inventory system familiarity.
• Organized, analytical, and able to prioritize in a fast-changing environment.
• Strong communicator who can train, coach, and motivate.
• Detail-focused, quality-driven, and willing to pitch in wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the line: set daily direction, assign tasks, and balance labor to meet changing priorities.
• Build with the team: perform hands-on assembly of mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Interpret drawings, work instructions, and BOMs to execute standard work.
• Train and develop: onboard new hires, cross-train teammates, and provide real-time coaching.
• Enter labor, material usage, inventory transactions, and work-order updates into the ERP/production system.
• Monitor inventory levels, receiving/issuing, and perform cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
• Participate in daily production meetings to share priorities and resource needs.
