Job summary

Amazon is seeking an innovative Industrial Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of material handling systems across multiple facilities. You will collaborate with internal and external teams to define ambiguous problems, write technical specs, evaluate equipment, and scale new technologies while managing budgets and timelines.

You will travel up to 50% and may relocate; relocation assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or an equivalent program.
• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
• Experience with automated or non-automated material handling equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple large, highly complex programs through the development and deployment lifecycle.
• Understand business and technical requirements across mechanical, electrical, and controls.
• Communicate technical designs to tech and non-tech stakeholders with clarity.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Data Science leaders to set priorities.
• Define program scope and requirements, and relay them to design and field teams.
• Evaluate solutions balancing business value and technical risk.
