Job summary

Silver Hills seeks a highly skilled Controls Engineer to lead design, development, programming, integration, and continuous improvement of industrial automation and control systems in Rossville. The successful candidate will design, troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and manage control wiring.

Responsibilities include commissioning, testing, and programming automation, instrumentation, and control systems, plus preventive maintenance and repairs for PLCs, HMIs, sensors,

Qualifications

• Diploma, certification, or degree in Electrical/Automation/Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years experience in a Controls/Automation Engineer role in industrial manufacture.
• Proven track record designing, programming and validating machine safety circuits and safety controllers.
• Advanced programming skills in major PLC/HMI platforms.
• Experience with VFDs, servo drives, and industrial robotics.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and interpret schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning, startup, testing, and FAT/SAT of robotic cells and automated equipment.
• Integrate robots and end-of-arm tooling, sensors, vision, and motion control.
• Program and configure PLC/HMI, VFDs, and servo motion to link new cells with production lines.
• Wire, terminate, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components during builds.
• Specify and integrate control panels and industrial networks for reliable connectivity.
• Provide troubleshooting and root-cause analysis and expedite repairs.
• Lead modernization, tuning, and sustainment of equipment after commissioning.
• Conduct safety assessments and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Sanitation.
• Create and update electrical/control drawings and maintain as-builts.
