Job summary

MSTI in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking an I&C Engineer to design, build and test instrumentation and control systems for process facilities, including controls, instrumentation, data collection and automation.

You will work with system and mechanical engineers, support P&ID generation, develop PLC/DCS control logic, create HMI screens, perform hazard analyses, mentor junior engineers, and participate in design reviews. US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.E. in engineering required; MSc preferred.
• 5+ years of expertise in instrumentation and control system development.
• Experience with nuclear instrumentation and control systems preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• I&C design for process systems (controls, instrumentation, data collection, electro-mechanical, automation & robotics, connectivity).
• Develop detailed design with system and mechanical engineers.
• Support P&ID development and instrumentation diagrams.
• Interface with architectural/engineering firms to support I&C systems.
• Develop control logic narratives, diagrams and PLC/DCS code.
• Create panel wiring and interconnect diagrams and HMI screens.
• Develop I&C system hardware descriptions and testing procedures.
• Participate in Process Hazards Analysis and reviews.
• Mentor and lead junior I&C design engineers.
