Job summary

Worley is seeking a Principal Hydroelectric Pumped Storage Engineer to provide engineering expertise for modernization and reliability improvement of hydroelectric pumped storage facilities. The role requires deep knowledge of turbine-generator controls, governor and excitation systems, DCS, and IEEE Std 1010.

You will analyze plant operations, lead modernization projects replacing relay-based controls with modern DCS architectures, and develop control narratives and sequence-of-operation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in power generation, hydroelectric facilities, and industrial control systems.
• Experience migrating legacy relay control systems to modern DCS platforms, especially Emerson Ovation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plant issues and develop corrective actions.
• Lead modernization projects replacing relay-based controls with DCS.
• Develop control narratives and sequence-of-operation docs.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and operational readiness reviews.
• Ensure control systems meet IEEE Std 1010 practices.
