Job summary

Southern Company is seeking a Project/Construction Manager – Level 7 to lead TSS projects across the Chattahoochee River and North Georgia hydro sites. You will oversee engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and project controls, ensuring site scopes, budgets, and schedules align with program goals.

This role requires coordinating with multiple sites, managing contractors, and leading a professional team to deliver safe, compliant, and on-time project completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or related field required or preferred.
• PMI or similar accreditation beneficial.
• Experience in project management for engineering, procurement, construction and startup.
• Construction management experience required.
• Hydro project experience preferred.
• Ability to manage outside contractor resources.
• Leadership role directing activities of direct reports or team.
• Power plant operation experience is a plus.
• Experience managing project scope, budgets and schedules.
• Experience with performance management.
• Issue resolution with contractors and contracts.
• Risk assessment and mitigation throughout projects.
• Adaptability to changing site conditions and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all TSS project aspects at GPC Hydro plants in the Chattahoochee River system or North Ga River System.
• Own scope, budget, implementation plan and schedule for each site.
• Direct responsibility for project site activities, construction, contract management, cost control and contractor management across all sites.
• Lead a team of professionals at multiple sites to ensure successful project completion.
• Report to the GPC Hydro Project Manager as Project/Construction Manager – Level 7.
