Job summary

American Terawatt is seeking a Principal Power Systems Control Engineer to own C&P architecture for HVDC terminals and network. You will lead real-time controls software development, testing, validation, and commissioning, reporting to the CTO and collaborating with OEMs and engineers.

This hands-on leadership role requires deep experience in safety-critical control systems, simulation, and production deployment, with a path to build a larger controls team as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years architecting and delivering control systems in safety-critical domains.
• Strong control theory fundamentals: feedback, state estimation, stability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end C&P design for terminals and transmission systems.
• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain control systems software.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to co-design transmission systems.
• Develop simulation and physical testing platforms for validation.
• Lead in-situ commissioning of controls software.
• Define and own CI/CD practices for the team.
