Job summary

A leading company in Orlando is seeking an HVAC technician to install, maintain, and repair all types of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in HVAC/R, including work specific to the theme park industry. Responsibilities include managing a small team and ensuring compliance with safety standards while maintaining equipment. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure the successful candidate meets all operational standards.

JOB SUMMARY:

To install, maintain, service, rebuild, troubleshoot, repair, and operate all Industrial, Commercial, and Non-Commercial heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems site-wide. Support management in directing and coordinating activities of the HVAC department and employees by performing the following duties:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Plans and delegates work tasks. Communicates performance expectations to ensure proper completion of tasks. Coordinates with other departments or crafts as needed. Communicates resource needs and work plans to supervision. Facilitates communication between the work team, supervisor, management, and HR personnel.
  2. Reinforces company safety guidelines and programs; reports non-compliance. Monitors employee productivity and work habits. Manages work startup and stoppage, schedules breaks. Oversees the care, condition, use, and storage of tools, equipment, and property. Maintains material inventories. Ensures compliance with wardrobe, grooming standards, driving policies, radio usage, and other company policies.
  3. Ensures proper documentation of work activities, providing feedback for recognition and performance improvement. Uses Lead Observation Reports to support managerial and supervisory documentation.
  4. Maintains and shares job knowledge; assists in training and developing new and current employees.
  5. Maintains, services, and repairs all UO heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems site-wide.
  6. Participates actively in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policies, procedures, training, and team activities.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Technical school training is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5+ years of HVAC/R experience in industrial and commercial service, construction, or maintenance, or a fast-paced service company dedicated to HVAC/R.
  • At least 3+ years of HVAC/R experience in the theme park industry.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
  • Universal EPA Certification required.
  • Valid Journeyman HVAC License and completion of UO Lead classes required.
