About the role

We are currently seeking a seasoned Up-Tower Generator Lead to join our team. This position is responsible for leading critical up-tower generator repair scopes on GE platforms across multiple wind sites. The ideal candidate brings prior leadership experience in up-tower generator repair, with demonstrated success overseeing small teams while executing complex generator repairs at height.

This role requires prior experience as an Up-Tower Generator Lead and valid GE 1X and 2X LOTO certifications. Applicants who do not meet these requirements will not be considered.

· Lead and oversee all aspects of up-tower generator repairs on GE platforms (1X, 2X, and occasionally 3X).

· Direct and support crew members on scope execution, including:
- Bearing exchanges
- Re-leads
- Wye ring replacements

· Maintain a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and quality while working at height.

· Coordinate daily scope planning, timelines, and task delegation in collaboration with Site Leads and Operations.

· Ensure compliance with GE-specific LOTO procedures (1X & 2X required).

· Communicate clearly with management on scope status, challenges, and resource needs.

· Maintain accurate documentation and ensure completion of closeout reports.

· Mentor and guide junior technicians on up-tower generator work best practices.

Qualifications / Requirements

· Prior experience as an Up-Tower Generator Lead—must have led field teams performing generator repairs.

· Proficient in generator repairs on GE platforms: 1X, 2X required; 3X preferred.

· Hands-on experience with Winergy, Hitachi, Vem, and Indar generators.

· Skilled in performing:
- Bearing exchanges
- Re-leads
- Wye ring replacements

· Certified in GE LOTO 1X and 2X – required.

· Ability to work at height and in confined spaces in varying weather conditions.

· Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Eligibility Requirements

· Ability to travel to various sites as required by project needs.

· Must pass required drug screening, background check, and fitness-for-duty evaluation.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

· Ability to climb up to 300 ft. multiple times per day.

· working in confined spaces and extreme environmental conditions.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work while suspended in a harness for extended periods.
