Job summary
Southern Air, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Foreman or Lead Mechanic in Roanoke, VA to lead installation projects, mentor field teams, and ensure safety, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship on HVAC sheet metal systems.
The role requires a minimum of 5 years in sheet metal, blueprints and P&ID interpretation, and strong leadership. Competitive hourly pay with solid benefits and opportunities for advancement are offered.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the sheet metal trade.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and P&ID schematics.
- Strong ability to work independently and with a team.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on leadership and support to field crews
- Assist with project layout, installation, and system startup
- Ensure projects stay on schedule from start through completion
- Supervise and guide mechanics and apprentices
- Install commercial HVAC sheet metal systems according to specifications
- Lead fabrication, assembly, and installation of HVAC sheet metal systems
- Manage daily jobsite operations and crew performance
- Coordinate subcontractors and project schedules
- Ensure quality, safety, and customer satisfaction at every phase
