• Ability to identify repair versus replacement opportunities ethically.
• Comfortable discussing memberships, system upgrades, and replacement options with customers.

Responsibilities

• Respond to residential HVAC service calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and tune-ups to maximize equipment performance.
• Educate homeowners on system operation, repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
• Identify and communicate replacement opportunities when repairs are no longer the best solution.
• Generate qualified leads for the installation team.
• Promote and enroll customers in maintenance membership programs.
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

About the Opportunity

A growing residential HVAC company in the Des Moines area is seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Service Technician to join its team. This is a key revenue-generating role for someone who excels at diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate has 4-5+ years of experience as a Lead Service Technician, has successfully managed their own service truck, and understands how to build trust with homeowners while identifying repair, maintenance, and replacement opportunities. This individual will play a critical role in driving service revenue, membership growth, and installation leads.

What You'll Do

Respond to residential HVAC service calls in a timely and professional manner.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.

Perform preventative maintenance and tune-ups to maximize equipment performance.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

NATE Certification (preferred but not required).

Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service software.

Experience with high-efficiency HVAC systems and heat pumps.

Sales aptitude with a customer-first approach.
