Job summary

Daikin Applied in Fargo, ND seeks a full-time HVAC Journeyman to service commercial and industrial systems, including rooftops, chillers, boilers, and water-source heat pumps. You’ll train through in-person, online, and on-the-job programs and lead apprentices.

Work includes diagnostics, repairs, warranty service, and educating customers. You’ll maintain safety, uphold OSHA guidelines, and participate in regional training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associates Degree or technical HVAC certification preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent.
• Journeyman status by union.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Licenses/training as required by local law district.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability.
• Experience mentoring less experienced technicians.
• EPA Universal Technician certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• First aid/CPR card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service and inspect HVAC equipment: chillers, rooftop units, fan coils, water source heat pumps, AHUs, boilers, and condenser tubes.
• Repair and replace defective equipment or wiring.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to prevent breakdowns and callbacks.
• Diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of commercial HVAC gear.
• Conduct warranty service inspections and testing of systems.
• Educate customers on proper use, maintenance schedules, and manuals.
• Lead apprentices during rebuilds and retrofits of commercial HVAC units.
• Document billing, timecards, inventory, and reports promptly.
• Load programs into equipment and analyze chillers' trend data for optimal performance.
• Participate in training programs from regional technicians and online modules.
• Maintain certifications and develop new skills; uphold safety policies.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Associates Degree or technical HVAC certification

Accepted as Journeyman by the union

Valid Driver's License

Licenses/training as required by local law
