Role Description The Lead HVAC Installer is a full-time, on-site role based in North Salem, IN. This position is responsible for leading the installation of residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing job specifications, planning installations, assigning tasks to helpers or junior installers, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to code. The Lead HVAC Installer will perform system start-ups, testing, and commissioning, troubleshoot installation issues, and verify that equipment is operating correctly before project completion. This role also includes communicating with customers on-site, explaining system operation, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and coordinating with the office and service teams to support project schedules and quality standards.
Qualifications

• Strong HVAC installation skills, including experience with furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and related components.
• Knowledge of local mechanical codes, safety standards, and proper use of HVAC tools and equipment.
• Ability to lead installation crews, assign tasks, train junior team members, and manage jobsite workflow.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving installation and start-up issues.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, coworkers, and supervisors, with a professional and respectful demeanor.
• Capability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, working in tight spaces, climbing ladders, and working in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to the North Salem, IN jobsite.
• Prior experience as a lead installer or senior HVAC installer; EPA certification and other relevant HVAC certifications are preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of HVAC trade school or apprenticeship is beneficial.
