Job summary

Automated Solutions Group Inc. is seeking a Lead Programming Engineer in California to lead, mentor and grow our Programming Engineer group.

You will collaborate with engineering, sales, PMs and field personnel to ensure project success and drive the advancement of our programming team. You will oversee training, set standards, and coordinate inter-team communication while guiding complex Building Automation projects from start to finish, including design, startup and owner training.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HVAC systems as it relates to controls.
• Advanced knowledge of control systems and programming principles.
• Ability to interpret HVAC mechanical plans and specifications.
• Good schematic design and technical writing skills.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mechanical aptitude and engineering common sense.
• Knowledge of Automated Logic ecosystem.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP network structure and communication protocols.
• Experience with email, web, and database server configuration.
• Experience with function block programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop equipment and system programs that meet project scope and performance.
• Develop equipment and system graphics for intuitive user experiences.
• Delegate tasks to Senior Engineers’ teams based on skills.
• Perform QA/QC of equipment and system programs and graphics.
• Track and assist on projects to ensure deadlines are met.
• Own training, development and performance assessment for new engineers.
• Lead feedback loops between field and engineering teams for technical questions.
• Enforce Program Engineering standards and best practices.
• Maintain project integrity and reputation through standards.
• Execute Building Automation projects per schedule and docs.
• Mentor Engineers with start-up, checkout and commissioning tasks.
• Provide standard methods and goals for owner training.
• Assist with documentation reflecting As-Built conditions.
• Manage project lists and delegation of projects.
• Hold 1x1 meetings with Senior Programmers.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding and corrective actions.
• Review weekly timecards and time-off requests.
