Korro Bio, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist to lead the HTS-NGS team supporting its oligonucleotide platform and portfolio projects in a hybrid leadership role.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in high-throughput cell assays and NGS workflows, with team management experience, to identify RNA editing therapeutics.

Qualifications

• PhD with 4+ years, MS with 12+ years or equivalent industry experience in cell biology or genomics.
• Biotech/pharma experience required.
• Proven track record managing scientists to achieve goals.
• Hands-on cell culture in 96- and 384-well formats; transfection assays.
• End-to-end NGS experience: amplicon-seq, RNA-seq; library prep and QC.
• Illumina sequencing expertise preferred (MiSeq).
• Core molecular biology skills: RNA/DNA isolation, PCR/qPCR, gel electrophoresis.
• Experience with liquid handling automation (Viaflo 96/384, HiRes/Certus Flex, Tempest).
• LIMS experience, Benchling preferred.
• Attention to detail and data quality; strong written/verbal communication.
• Collaborative team player in a dynamic biotech environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor scientists in in vitro screening and NGS-based characterization.
• Set team priorities and ensure timely, high-quality delivery against milestones.
• Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture with scientific rigor and ops excellence.
• Design and optimize end-to-end molecular biology and NGS workflows (amplicon-seq, RNA-seq).
• Establish 96- and 384-well HTS assays with robust transfection protocols.
• Lead automation of liquid handling to maximize throughput and reproducibility.
• Evaluate new instrumentation to enhance HTS-NGS capabilities and automation.
• Oversee QC instrumentation usage and data integrity (Qubit, TapeStation, Fragment Analyzer).
• Partner with Chemistry, Data Science, and Biology to align assays with downstream needs.
• Champion LIMS adoption and data quality standards (Benchling).
• Use Jira/Confluence to track progress and communicate status.
