Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead the HTS-NGS team supporting oligonucleotide platform projects with a focus on RNA editing therapeutics.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with industry biotech/pharma experience.

Role: Senior Scientist

Leading the HTS-NGS team supporting oligonucleotide platform projects, with a focus on RNA editing therapeutics.

Responsibilities

• Managing and mentoring a team performing in vitro biological screening, NGS-based characterization, and assay development
• Designing and optimizing molecular biology and NGS workflows
• Leading automation and technology integration for high-throughput capabilities
• Collaborating cross-functionally with Chemistry, Data Science, and Biology teams to ensure alignment with project goals.

Requirements

• PhD (4+ years) or MSc (12+ years) in cell/molecular biology, genomics, with industry biotech/pharma experience.
• Hands‑on expertise in cell culture (96/384-well formats) and NGS (amplicon‑seq, RNA‑seq) including library prep, QC, and Illumina platforms.
• Experience with automation liquid handling systems (Viaflo, Tempest), LIMS (preferably Benchling), and QC instruments (Qubit, TapeStation).
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead complex projects in a dynamic environment are essential.

Preferred

• Familiarity with project management tools (Jira, Confluence)
• Additional experience with screening oligonucleotides.
