Job summary

Wesley Enhanced Living in Pennsylvania is seeking a Lead Housekeeper to oversee housekeeping across the community, including healthcare center and residential areas, ensuring cleanliness, service quality, and regulatory compliance.

The role guides staff, plans schedules, coordinates special projects, supports hiring, and ensures orientation and training, with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years experience overseeing housekeeping operations in a health care facility.
• Ability to manage work schedules.
• Knowledge and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and regulatory compliances, knowledge and hands on experience with cleaning supplies, methods, and equipment.
• Experience in Microsoft applications and computerized time and attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to housekeeping staff by establishing standards and measurable team goals for a clean, sanitary environment.
• Plan, coordinate and assist in special projects with other departments (e.g., move-ins, function setups).
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations including health and welfare departments.
• Communicate and implement department policies and program changes to staff.

Job Summary:

The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for assisting in the operation of housekeeping throughout the community including the health care center, personal care and residential apartments. Provides guidance to the housekeeping staff to ensure that a high level of cleanliness, quality and service is achieved and maintained and is in compliance with the PA Department of Health and the Department of Public Welfare regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provides support and guidance to the housekeeping staff by establishing specific standards, measurable team goals and objectives that ensure a clean and sanitary environment throughout the community.
• Plan, coordinate and assists in the execution of special projects with other departments. Projects may include but are not limited to; resident move-ins, special function set-ups.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, including the Department of Health and the Department of Public Welfare
• Communicates, supports and implements department and community procedural and/or program changes to department staff.
• Participate in staff selection process. Assists the DOF with interviewing candidates for employment
• Plans and coordinate department routine work and special projects tasks and schedule.
• Schedules department staff work hours and time off to ensure facility needs are met.
• Ensures staff are scheduled to receive appropriate community and department orientation and training..
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Related Experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years experience overseeing housekeeping operations in a health care facility.
• Ability to manage work schedules.
• knowledge and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and regulatory compliances, knowledge and hands on experience with use of professional cleaning supplies, professional cleaning methods, and use of commercial housekeeping equipment.
• Experience in Microsoft applications and computerized time and attendance systems.

Education or Degree Requirement:

• High School Diploma, Supervisory or Management Training.

Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:

• Participation in Housekeeping Associations is encouraged.
