JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the daily maintenance of guest rooms, including detailed cleaning and replenishing of guest supplies. Shall assist the executive housekeeper with the supervision of room attendants.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient, and friendly service.
- Supervise room attendants on shift, including room assignments, conduct all room inspections and redirection as needed, and coordinate supply needs with laundry attendants.
- Assist the executive housekeeper with staff schedules, employee training, and performance counseling and evaluations.
- Trains and performs routine functions of the room attendant position as needed.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance needs and ensure quality housekeeping services.
- Coordinates housekeeping duties with utility maintenance and front desk staff, communicating room availability, stayovers, room maintenance needs, and special set-up/take-downs for scheduled groups/meetings.
- From the daily room checklist, access the PMS system to indicate room availability.
- Assist the supervisor with administering the lost and found policy, as outlined by policy.
- Coordinate with the porter Staff, the removal of soiled linens, and carts and supplies maintenance.
- Assist guests with supply requests and/or household services promptly and efficiently.
- Monitors and records tips received, advising staff of tip regulations and properly reporting to payroll.
- Promotes a clean, safe, and healthy work environment at all times for employees and guests.
- Ensure that the operation of equipment, tools, and materials is handled safely and efficiently.
- Record keeping as needed to maintain supplies, note repairs, report incidents, etc.
- Report any damages, lost and found items, and/or unusual occurrences immediately.
- Communicate with the supervisor on housekeeping needs, staff performance issues, repair requests, etc.
- Adheres to and promotes compliance with applicable laws, safety and sanitation codes, employee handbook, and department policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:
- Housekeeping staff on shift.
SIGNATORY ABILITY:
- Counseling notices and PTO forms.
- Access to keys for controlled areas (storage, inventory, etc.).
ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS:
- Guest rooms as needed.
- PMS system.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- One (1) year of hotel housekeeping experience.
- High School Diploma or GED. or ten years' experience
- Guest service experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Computer knowledge of spreadsheets and database systems.
- Experience and knowledge of cleaning procedures, practices, and handling of chemicals.
- Effective communication skills to read, follow written directions on safety/warning labels; compute simple math equations, generate written reports, and effectively communicate verbally - information, instruction, and direction.
- Stand and/or walk for long periods; perform repetitive motions with arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; bend, kneel, stretch, lift, and maneuver 50 lbs. Performing cleaning details and working in a smoke and pet environmental area.
- Excellent personal appearance and hygiene habits.
- Requires a criminal history background check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
