Role and Responsibilities

The Housekeeping Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating all Housekeeping Department activities throughout the center to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and member satisfaction.

Specific Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Assist in overseeing department budget, payroll, and team schedules.
• Ensure legendary customer service, a spotless environment, and friendly, knowledgeable staff.
• Lead daily operations and ensure service standards are followed.
• Address guest concerns promptly and log notifications.
• Respond to member feedback.
• Hire, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate staff.
• Train new staff on club-specific cleaning checklists.
• Conduct daily meetings with shift managers.
• Maintain inventory of supplies.
• Maintain high visibility during peak hours.
• Collaborate with all departments as a team.
• Conduct safety training sessions.
• Administer emergency care when needed.
• Perform regular inspections and correct issues.
• Manage logs and records (OSHA, lost and found, etc.).
• Ensure safety standards compliance.
• Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities.
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with stock and cleanliness of the center.

Other Functions

• Uphold policies and procedures.
• Enforce policies consistently.
• Manage department standards and conduct staff meetings.
• Prepare departmental budget and oversee payroll.
• Handle purchase orders and expense reports.
• Ensure staff certifications are maintained.
• Report injuries, illnesses, and security incidents.

Qualifications

• Minimum three months experience in housekeeping/janitorial services and customer service; hospitality or health club experience is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and responsive with a customer service focus.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to multitask.
• AED/CPR/First Aid certified.
• Proof of citizenship or legal status.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Ability to prioritize health and safety.
• Stand for several hours; lift up to 25 lbs.
• Work in a fitness club environment.
• Follow OSHA and company safety standards.
