Job summary

The Melrose Georgetown Hotel in Washington, DC is seeking a Chief Engineer to keep the property in peak operating condition, ensuring all engineering standards are met.

You will lead the engineering team, oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems, perform walk-throughs, manage preventive maintenance programs, and coordinate with hotel leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This is a full-time on-site role with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel engineering experience including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general building construction.
• State certification or licensure where required.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, diagrams and blueprints; read test equipment and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hotel is in great working order and meets engineering standards.
• Conduct walk-throughs and assess maintenance of building systems.
• Maintain Rooms and Public Area Preventive Maintenance Program and keep records up to date.
• Lead and train engineering staff and coordinate with hotel management.
• Ensure grounds are maintained and safety policies followed.
